The setup

Aurras brings sound therapy — sound baths, meditation, ongoing programs — to Kansas City and a growing online audience. People don’t come once; they come back week after week.

The website didn’t know that. It sold one-off products through purchase paths that often didn’t work at all. Sales weren’t happening, nothing recurred, and every customer relationship ended at the receipt.

This was a rescue: fix what’s broken, then rebuild the model around what the business actually is — a membership. That’s where we came in.

The challenge

  • A site that didn’t work. Broken purchase paths were losing sales before the business model was even the problem.
  • One-off everything. Single-purchase products meant no recurring revenue and no ongoing member relationship.
  • A fragmented experience. Programs, events, and products lived in pieces — nothing felt like one platform.
  • Events in two worlds. Public events for everyone, paid events for members only — the platform had to know the difference.

  • Membership conversion. From one-off products to recurring memberships, with programs unlocked by an active membership.
  • Custom membership features. Built on MemberPress and extended with the custom functionality the model needed.
  • Events management, integrated. Public events alongside members-only paid events, managed in one place on the site.
  • Digital products. Once the membership core was stable, we set Aurras up to sell digital products too.
  • Pick-your-start-date memberships. A later iteration: custom MemberPress functionality so buyers choose the exact date their membership starts.
